At LumiQ, we are transforming the way CPAs approach their continuing professional development. We have replaced tedious, outdated webinars with an engaging, audio-first platform featuring insights from business leaders at organizations like Slack, Shopify, and TD Bank. With over 600 companies already on board and 300 percent year-over-year growth, we are scaling rapidly while staying committed to building a sustainable, profitable business. We value long-term growth over the move-fast-and-break-things mentality, and we are looking for people who want to help us lead a global movement in professional education.
The role
We are seeking a Junior Events Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an ideal position for someone with 1 to 2 years of experience in event execution who is ready to take ownership of our event strategy. You will report directly to our Director of Marketing and play a vital role in driving revenue and strengthening client relationships through both sponsored conference attendance and company-hosted events. This is a hybrid role based in Canada, and you should be able to commute to our Toronto office 1 to 2 times per week.
Core responsibilities
- Plan and execute all aspects of sponsored conferences and company events, from initial contract negotiations to post-event feedback analysis.
- Manage the logistics of event materials, including the coordination of swag, booth collateral, and shipping requirements to ensure everything arrives on time and error-free.
- Collaborate with our Revenue Operations and marketing teams to track event attendees, report on ROI, and maintain strong relationships with our vendors and partners.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this role, you should be a highly organized project manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years of professional experience in event management and execution.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders and vendors.
- Proficiency in budgeting and reporting to ensure our marketing efforts deliver clear results.
- A curious mindset regarding B2B marketing and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Bonus points if you have prior experience managing B2B conference sponsorships.
- Fluency in English is required.
Compensation and benefits
We provide a supportive environment designed to help you grow both personally and professionally. Our benefits package includes:
- Hybrid work flexibility, including a downtown Toronto office space.
- A Nomad Policy allowing you to work from anywhere in the world for up to 4 weeks each year.
- Comprehensive medical and dental insurance.
- Generous paid time off, including uncapped sick and mental health days.
- Flexible working hours to accommodate your personal commitments.
- A dedicated learning budget to support your professional development.
How to apply
If you are passionate about events and excited by our mission to make professional learning enjoyable, we want to hear from you. Even if you feel your experience is only most of the way there, we encourage you to reach out. We look forward to reviewing your application and potentially welcoming you to the team.
