Engineering Manager at SONA

What you bring

As our new Engineering Manager, you will lead our dedicated AI team as they develop the machine learning and LLM-based forecasting tools that set us apart from legacy competitors. This is a full-time, remote position available to candidates located anywhere. You will stay hands-on with technical decisions while focusing on high-level strategy and team growth. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Leading, mentoring, and scaling a high-performing engineering team to reach its full potential.
• Driving a world-class delivery process that removes blockers and empowers our engineers to provide maximum value.
• Collaborating closely with product management to define roadmaps and ensure our technical solutions align with the needs of our users.

Requirements

We are looking for a leader who thrives in the fast-paced environment of a scaling company. You should have a proven track record of managing engineering teams and a clear philosophy on how to empower developers to build exceptional products. While we primarily use Elixir, Phoenix, GraphQL, and React Native, we value your ability to learn new technologies quickly if you do not have direct experience with our specific stack. You should be a strong advocate for AI-assisted coding tools and demonstrate how you have used them to improve efficiency. Proficiency in English is required for this role, and you must be comfortable with our remote-first culture while remaining available for periodic in-person team retreats.
