At Articulate, we build creator platforms that help organizations deliver effective online workplace training at scale. Founded in 2002, we now serve more than 118,000 customers across 170 countries, including every company in the Fortune 100. Our AI team is expanding the ways our tools support content creation, and we are looking for an Engineering Manager who can guide that work while staying close to the code.
What you'll be doing
- Lead a cross-functional team through the design and delivery of complex AI features, tracking progress, adjusting timelines, and removing obstacles so the group ships reliable work on schedule.
- Continue to write, review, and test production code, participate in on-call rotations, and help resolve live issues alongside the support and operations teams.
- Mentor engineers through regular one-on-ones and performance conversations, contribute to hiring plans by screening and interviewing candidates, and collaborate with peers to shape long-term engineering practices and tooling.
What you'll bring
- At least three years of engineering management experience guiding productive teams, along with clear examples of how you helped engineers stay effective and engaged.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, asynchronous programming, and memory management, applied at meaningful scale, plus a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field-or equivalent training and experience.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to designers, support staff, and fellow engineers, and the ability to navigate constructive conversations with your team.
- Enthusiasm for AI’s potential to improve how people create content and experiences, paired with a thoughtful, trustworthy approach to your work.
- Fluency in English.
Hands-on experience with large language models or generative vision models, a background in applied AI or machine learning, and prior work ensuring reliability and ethical standards in non-deterministic systems are all valued but not required.
What you'll get
- The ability to work remotely from anywhere.
