At CytoTronics, we are on a mission to reshape the future of cell biology. Our team develops high-throughput, semiconductor-based platforms that allow researchers to see live cell insights with incredible single-cell resolution. By merging semiconductor technology with traditional microplates, our Pixel systems provide a new way to capture electrical, electrochemical, and electrophysiological data. This innovation is helping to accelerate drug development and pharmaceutical manufacturing, and we are looking for passionate people to join us as we push the boundaries of what is possible in the biotechnology space.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Hardware Test Engineer to join our team in Boston. This is a vital role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment and wants to make a tangible impact on our hardware development. You will be responsible for validating our custom PCB assemblies and ensuring our semiconductor testing processes for Mixed Signal ASICs are robust and effective. If you enjoy hands-on design and want to apply your expertise to help us scale our technology, this is the perfect place for you to grow your career.
A day in the life
- You will troubleshoot complex circuit issues, whether they arise from our existing designs or during the manufacturing process, to ensure everything functions perfectly.
- You will define and implement manufacturing and test processes for our PCBA sub-systems, characterizing fixtures and reporting your findings to the team.
- You will optimize test setups at contract manufacturing sites, which includes designing and qualifying the test equipment and diagnostic software needed to maintain high production yields.
Who you are
You are a seasoned engineer who brings a wealth of practical experience to our lab. You communicate well with others, value learning from past challenges, and are driven by the goal of building a successful business rather than just completing a task.
Your background should include:
- A BS degree with at least 5 years of experience, or an MS degree with at least 3 years of experience in hardware development and testing.
- Strong proficiency with PCB design tools like Altium or similar platforms.
- Hands-on experience debugging PCB assemblies, including signal and power integrity analysis.
- A solid grasp of electrical test and measurement instrumentation, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
- Experience using Python or other programming languages is considered a significant plus.
- Fluency in English.
Why you'll love it here
We offer a collaborative culture where your ideas are valued and your contributions directly influence our success. This full-time, on-site position in the United States provides a competitive salary range of $135,000 to $145,000. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and look forward to welcoming someone who is as excited as we are to build something meaningful.
