At Starfish Neuroscience, we are on a mission to push the boundaries of what is possible by building an organization filled with brilliant minds. We value deep technical expertise and a broad, interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving. Our team thrives because we hire individuals who excel independently while remaining deeply committed to our collaborative, flat organizational structure. We are currently searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team on-site at our Bellevue, Washington office, where you will help us develop innovative technology at the intersection of engineering and neuroscience.
The opportunity
As a key member of our engineering team, you will take ownership of the full lifecycle of our electrical systems. This role is designed for someone who enjoys the technical challenge of both analog and digital design, as well as the nuance of embedded systems. You will play a vital role in our product development process, ensuring that our designs are not only functional but optimized for performance in the complex field of neuromodulation. You will have the chance to work across the entire stack, from initial concept and material selection to final validation and testing.
A day in the life
- You will manage the end-to-end process of PCB design, which includes everything from component sourcing and layout to fabrication and rigorous testing.
- You will lead the development of embedded systems and firmware, with a specific focus on low-power devices and antenna design.
- You will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to build test infrastructure, create technical specifications, and refine our product designs through hands-on prototyping.
Who you are
You are a seasoned engineer with a strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and electrical engineering principles. You bring several years of experience in circuit design and validation, ideally within the wearable consumer electronics or medical device sectors. You are comfortable working in a flat environment where you can contribute as an individual while coordinating with vendors and contractors. We are looking for someone who holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field, or who possesses at least five years of progressive experience in research and product development. A deep interest in neuroscience and the ability to apply physical principles like electromagnetics and heat flow to your designs will set you apart. Above all, you are a curious learner who values working in an inclusive, diverse team.
Why you'll love it here
We believe in supporting our employees both in their professional growth and their future security. When you join Starfish, you become part of a team that celebrates diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We are proud to offer a 401k plan to help you plan for your long-term goals. We are committed to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive workplace where every team member can do their best work.
