At Framework, we are on a mission to reshape the consumer electronics industry by creating products that are truly built to last. Founded in San Francisco in 2019, we focus on developing high-performance, modular laptops that users can easily upgrade, customize, and repair. Our work has been recognized by outlets like Time, Fast Company, and Wirecutter, and we are backed by a team with deep roots in successful consumer electronics startups. We are currently in a strong financial position and are looking for passionate individuals to help us continue our growth while keeping our commitment to the planet at the forefront of everything we do.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Taiwan, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture of our upcoming products. Because our laptops are modular, you will face unique engineering challenges that require balancing repairability, performance, and compatibility. This is an influential position where you will help define our long-term technical roadmap while working in a hybrid environment, with the option to work from our office in the XinYi District or remotely.
What will you do?
- Lead the electrical design process from initial concept and prototyping through to mass production and documentation.
- Develop evaluation boards and product sub-systems, handling everything from high-level block diagrams to detailed schematics and layout work.
- Partner closely with our mechanical and firmware engineering teams to build prototypes, debug systems, and solve complex design challenges in real time.
What makes you a great fit?
To be successful in this role, you should have a solid foundation in hardware development and a drive for innovation. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in electrical or systems engineering for consumer electronics.
- A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent level of practical experience.
- Strong technical proficiency in circuit and system design, including schematic creation, component selection, and layout.
- Deep expertise in at least one specialized area, such as embedded systems, RF/EMI, power supply design, or high-speed signal integrity.
- Proven experience guiding a product from the early concept stage through to manufacturing and validation.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different time zones.
What's in it for you?
We offer a supportive work environment that values your time and professional growth. Perks and benefits include:
- Hybrid work arrangements and flexible work locations.
- The opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven company focused on environmental sustainability.
