We are looking for someone to help us make a difference. GoFundMe serves as the world’s most powerful community for good, providing a safe and easy space for people to ask for help and support causes. Since 2010, our community has raised more than $40 billion, and we are eager to bring on a Director, Technical SEO to lead our global organic search strategy. You will sit at the intersection of product, engineering, data, and marketing, helping us shape our roadmap and drive significant growth. This is a high-impact role for a leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to work on a product that truly changes lives. Please note that this role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and requires you to work from our office 3 days per week.
What you'll be doing
- You will own and scale our global SEO strategy, with a specific focus on technical performance across both mobile and desktop platforms.
- You will collaborate directly with our engineering, product, and data science teams to ensure that SEO best practices are woven into our platform architecture, testing frameworks, and overall roadmap.
- You will lead technical audits to identify and champion improvements in areas like site speed, crawling, indexing, rendering, structured data, and internal linking.
What you'll bring
We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications and expertise:
- Over 10 years of experience in SEO, with a deep specialization in technical SEO at scale within high-volume, user-generated content environments.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they apply to search engine optimization.
- Strong technical fluency with analytics platforms, including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Looker, and Amplitude.
- Experience working with international SEO, localization, and hreflang implementation.
- A forward-thinking approach to search, including experience with AI search, LLMs, and emerging video platforms like TikTok and YouTube.
- Excellent communication skills, allowing you to influence stakeholders across departments and explain the business impact of technical changes.
- Fluency in English.
What you'll get
