What is this role?

We are seeking a Director of Engineering to join us on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal leadership position where you will be responsible for launching and managing our new office in Warsaw, Poland. Operating in a hybrid work environment, you will serve as a site lead who balances high-level technical strategy with the commercial realities of expanding our footprint. This is an ideal role for an experienced director who thrives on building teams from the ground up and navigating complex, multidisciplinary engineering environments.

What will you do?

• Define and execute the strategic roadmap for our Polish engineering operations, including managing budgets, resource allocation, and long-term infrastructure planning.
• Lead the full software development lifecycle by prioritizing features, enforcing high-quality coding standards, and guiding cross-functional teams to ensure timely product delivery.
• Cultivate a high-performance culture by mentoring engineering leaders, setting clear performance metrics, and fostering an environment of continuous professional development.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in technical management and strategy, specifically with a track record of scaling engineering operations.
• Over 7 years of hands-on experience in full stack development, with deep expertise in Python, JavaScript, React, and Django.
• Proven experience serving as a site lead for a US-based technology company, demonstrating a strong grasp of commercial and business operations.
• Extensive background in platform engineering, including managing diverse teams of Full Stack developers and DevOps engineers.
• Demonstrated success in launching technical products and troubleshooting complex, high-stakes engineering challenges.
• Professional proficiency in English.
