By leveraging AI and a vast array of cloud, internet, and enterprise telemetry data, we enable IT teams to identify and resolve performance issues before they affect the end user. Our technology is deeply integrated into the broader Cisco portfolio, supporting critical work in networking, security, collaboration, and observability. We are currently looking for a Director of Engineering for Connected Devices to join our team in the United Kingdom on a full-time, on-site basis.

Key outcomes

• Lead and inspire a diverse team of software engineers, fostering an environment of innovation and technical excellence.
• Define and execute the strategic vision for our Connected Devices product line, ensuring it meets the needs of enterprises, service providers, and consumers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners in operations, product management, and security to build scalable, secure, and resilient systems.
• Oversee the development of measurement agents for various platforms, including IoT devices, routers, and smartphones, alongside our cloud platform and APIs.
• Build strong relationships with key customers to understand their requirements and ensure we deliver high-quality solutions.
• Mentor engineering talent to support professional growth and drive continuous learning within the organization.
• Promote high standards for security and engineering practices across all projects.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in an executive or senior leadership role, managing multiple software engineering teams.
• A proven track record of delivering complex, ambiguous projects that require coordination across multiple teams.
• Deep technical knowledge of distributed systems, cloud technology, and modern software development practices.
• A solid understanding of core networking principles.
• Experience leading teams responsible for mission-critical production services that demand high availability and reliability.
• The ability to align technical roadmaps with broader business objectives and balance tactical needs with long-term strategic growth.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
