The Position:

Compliance: This role focuses on developing and implementing compliance strategies tailored to ADAS and autonomous driving business, ensuring alignment with both Chinese regulations (such as the Surveying & Mapping Law, Data Security Law, and Cybersecurity Law) and international standards like GDPR.

Partnership management:The role also involves participating in critical commercial negotiations, managing partner agreements (e.g., NDAs, data compliance agreements), and identifying and mitigating associated compliance and legal risks. D

What will your job look like?

Develop and implement compliance strategies for ADAS and autonomous driving and cloud connected vehicle, ensuring adherence to Chinese and international regulations (e.g., Surveying & Mapping Law, Data Security Law, Cybersecurity Law, GDPR, etc);

Lead the design and execution of compliance frameworks with map makers, cloud service providers, OEMs, and other partners, including compliance room operations, data flow design and management, and map censorship processes;

Participate in key commercial negotiations and manage partner agreements (e.g., NDAs, data collection agreements, data compliance agreements), identifying and mitigating compliance and legal risks;

Monitor policy developments, and support internal compliance training and audit readiness;

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (technology, legal, product, operations) to embed compliance into product development processes;

Support compliance assessments and documentation for data collection, processing, storage, and cross-border transfer in autonomous driving systems;

Prepare compliance reports, policy briefs, and regulatory analyses to support executive decision-making.

All you need is:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related field;

Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in automotive, autonomous driving, or mapping, focusing on compliance, government affairs, business development, or legal affairs;

Familiar with Chinese surveying and mapping regulations (e.g., Surveying & Mapping Law, HD Map Management Guidelines) and data protection laws (DSMR, PIPL, GDPR) is highly preferred;

Excellent cross-functional communication and project management abilities, with a track record of driving complex initiatives;

Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to handle legal and technical documents in English;

Strategic thinker with a deep interest in intelligent mobility and future transportation trends.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience engaging with regulatory bodies such as the Ministry of Natural Resources, or MIIT;

Familiarity with HD map production, compliance room operations, or vehicle data processing;
