We are looking for a Director of Anglophone Business Development & FX to join our remote-first team.
Key outcomes
- Take full responsibility for business development and foreign exchange activities across Anglophone Africa markets.
- Identify, propose, and execute opportunities to expand and optimize our network, FX, and banking partnerships, including entering new markets.
- Manage the seamless launch of new markets and oversee the strategic planning for any necessary market closures to improve business efficiency.
- Develop and own comprehensive business plans for new initiatives while negotiating complex, first-of-their-kind deals.
- Oversee the FX PnL for the region, collaborating closely with traders on panel expansion and structured partnerships.
- Manage partner relationships to ensure business objectives are met, acting as the primary escalation point and conducting regular business reviews.
- Represent the region by reporting directly to the Executive Committee and senior management stakeholders.
- Serve as a country director when required, handling operational and ministerial tasks like risk reviews and compliance reporting.
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements by working closely with our legal, data privacy, and compliance teams.
- Lead and mentor a team of two, ensuring clear execution of goals and individual OKRs while fostering a cohesive culture within the broader Africa team.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of executive-level experience in strategic partnerships or FX.
- Proven expertise in business development and high-stakes negotiation.
- Direct professional experience working within the African market.
- An analytical and logical mindset for solving complex problems.
- A competitive drive with a track record of achieving measurable results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- The ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of an organization and explain complex information clearly.
