Relay is a Raleigh-based technology startup dedicated to transforming the way frontline workers communicate and operate. We have developed a unique combination of internet-enabled smart devices and a cloud-based software platform that disrupts the traditional handheld radio industry. Our mission is to improve the safety, efficiency, and daily experience of the workers who serve as the backbone of our economy. As we continue to scale, we are looking for a Director, Business Development to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid role that offers you the chance to influence our growth trajectory while working alongside a veteran team to secure and expand our most critical customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Drive scaled revenue growth by proactively engaging with new and existing Fortune 500 clients to identify and close multi-year, multi-million dollar opportunities.
- Develop and execute comprehensive business plans that address specific account priorities and effectively position our technology against industry competitors.
- Structure and manage proof of concept projects, collaborating closely with our internal Product and Customer Success teams to ensure successful implementation and long-term partnership development.
Requirements
- Possess 5 to 10+ years of experience in growth-oriented or revenue-generating roles, with a strong background in the industrial, manufacturing, or warehousing sectors.
- Demonstrate a highly relational approach to sales, including the ability to navigate complex external organizations and build long-term executive-level partnerships.
- Maintain the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, managing shifting priorities with curiosity and a self-motivated drive for success.
- Confirm your ability to travel domestically up to 40% of the time and hold current legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
