Design Technician at Beedie

In this role, you will report to the Senior Design Manager and play a vital part in maintaining quality control and design documentation across our diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project Development Managers to set clear milestones, expectations, and production schedules for design documentation that align with our broader project goals.
• Conduct thorough reviews of drawings at critical stages using AutoCAD and Bluebeam overlays to ensure our high internal standards are consistently met.
• Proactively identify design conflicts and work alongside our internal teams and external consultants to resolve issues, while also assisting the construction team with value engineering and site-related administration.

Requirements

• A post-secondary degree in Architecture, Building Science, Engineering, or Construction.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in architectural or construction administration, specifically involving mid-to-high-rise or mixed-use developments.
• A deep understanding of the full design and construction lifecycle, including construction sequencing, trade scopes, and building codes.
• Technical proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch-up, and Bluebeam.
• Experience with BIM software such as Revit or Revizto is considered a significant asset.
• Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated, results-oriented mindset that thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.
