At Metalab we create digital products that stand out. We are seeking a Design Specialist to join our marketing team and lead the visual direction of our external communications, ensuring that every showcase, case study, and campaign reflects the quality of work we deliver for our clients.
Key outcomes
- Define and maintain the creative strategy and visual identity for all public-facing Metalab content.
- Partner with marketing and client teams to produce case studies, showreels, landing pages, and social assets that communicate our product thinking and strategic expertise.
- Translate complex project work into clear, story-driven visual narratives that attract new business.
- Guarantee brand consistency and a high standard of craft across every marketing deliverable.
- Stay current with emerging design tools and techniques so that our output remains innovative and engaging.
Requirements
- Five or more years of professional visual design experience, including a solid grasp of product and UX principles.
- Demonstrated success in creating attention-grabbing assets that use visual storytelling to reach specific audiences.
- Strong interaction design skills with tools such as After Effects, Principle, or Framer.
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma and additional prototyping applications.
- A portfolio that highlights excellence in visual and interaction design; additional experience in UX/UI or creative copywriting is advantageous.
- Up-to-date knowledge of desktop and mobile design standards, trends, and best practices.
- Ability to articulate design decisions clearly to internal stakeholders.
- Comfort working with open-ended briefs and evolving requirements.
- Receptiveness to feedback and a commitment to continuous improvement in both craft and collaboration.
- Fluency in English.
Compensation
The expected pay range for this position, when based in British Columbia, Canada, is CAD $120,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation may vary according to the candidate’s location and prevailing market conditions. In addition, we offer the flexibility of remote work.
