We are looking for a Design Operations Coordinator to join our team on a contractor basis. At Xero, our mission is to supercharge small businesses by automating routine tasks, providing actionable insights, and connecting entrepreneurs with the right data and advisors. By joining our Business Operations team in New Zealand, you will help integrate our design functions into our broader operational systems, allowing our leadership to execute our strategy effectively while delivering real value to our customers. This is a hybrid role where you will collaborate with a diverse group of operations managers across our global design teams.
Responsibilities
- Drive strategic optimization within our design practice by evolving our workflows, creating consistent processes, and improving scalability to reduce repetitive tasks.
- Manage the lifecycle of design software tools and handle external contractor engagements, which includes coordinating with finance and procurement teams to manage budgets, statements of work, and vendor onboarding.
- Lead projects that explore and test new ways of working for our product design team using human-centered design methodologies, while also managing the planning and documentation for internal training programs.
Requirements
We are looking for a professional with at least three years of experience in product, delivery, project, or operations roles. Ideally, you have a background in the design sector and thrive in fast-paced environments. You should possess the following qualifications:
- A proven track record of building strong relationships and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience managing procurement and change processes, specifically regarding budget negotiation, scope, and business terms.
- Strong project delivery skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities across a broad portfolio.
- Familiarity with Figma is considered a significant advantage, though not strictly required.
What we offer
We are committed to supporting your wellbeing and professional growth. As part of our team, you will have access to a comprehensive suite of benefits, including:
- Generous paid time off, including dedicated leave for physical and mental wellbeing.
- Comprehensive medical insurance coverage.
- Access to an employee assistance program to support you and your family.
- A flexible work environment that includes hybrid arrangements and flexible hours.
