Design Manager for Energy and Industrial Construction Unit at YIT

Key outcomes

• Lead and manage the design process for our projects, including participation in project preparation and tender phases.
• Take responsibility for design scheduling, coordination, and the overall management of design teams.
• Collaborate closely with internal experts in project development, procurement, cost estimation, and construction.
• Evaluate design solutions to ensure they meet high standards for cost-efficiency, buildability, and site safety.
• Guide external partners to ensure their work aligns with our quality and safety expectations.

Requirements

• Relevant educational background for the position.
• Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong background in comprehensive design projects or EPCM assignments.
• Proficiency in design management, scheduling, and building information modeling (BIM).
• Excellent communication skills in both Finnish and English, with the ability to work effectively in international project environments.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain performance under pressure.
• Competence in utilizing various IT systems.
• Willingness to travel as part of the role.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with energy, industrial, or data center projects.
• Background in the early design phases of projects.
• Knowledge of cost calculation and carbon footprint assessment.
