January AI is a pioneering precision health company founded by Noosheen Hashemi and Dr. Michael Snyder. We combine continuous glucose monitoring with heart rate, sleep, and activity tracking to provide users with real-time insights into their metabolic health. By helping individuals understand how their bodies process food, we empower them to build better habits and prevent long-term health issues. Backed by notable investors like Marc Benioff, Jerry Yang, and Steve Chen, we are looking for a Design Lead to join our team on a full-time, hybrid basis in the United States. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our digital products, from our core mobile app to our web presence and marketing materials.
Responsibilities
- Direct the end-to-end design process, ensuring our app and brand experience remain innovative and cohesive across all digital touchpoints.
- Mentor and lead a small team of designers, providing constructive feedback to maintain high standards of craft while fostering professional growth.
- Partner closely with marketing, product management, and engineering teams to scope projects, prioritize initiatives, and advocate for exceptional user experiences.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience in digital product design, whether at an in-house company or a consulting firm.
- Proven track record of managing and supporting the career development of other designers.
- Deep expertise in both structural UX architecture and visual interaction design for native mobile and web platforms.
- Hands-on experience with the full design lifecycle, including user research, prototyping, and implementation.
- Technical proficiency in coding or working directly with developers to build prototypes.
- Previous experience in a startup or e-commerce environment is highly preferred.
