Design Engineer at Vercel

We are currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity.

Key outcomes

• Lead design initiatives and develop innovative, systems-based solutions for our marketing platforms, including vercel.com and nextjs.org.
• Partner closely with the Director of Design Engineering to advance our marketing goals and expand into new markets.
• Manage the end-to-end design process, from initial requirements gathering and ideation to final implementation.
• Use data from analytics platforms to understand user behavior and conversion funnels, applying these insights to drive creative design decisions.
• Oversee the technical roadmap for our web properties, focusing on iterative improvements to accessibility, performance, and usability.
• Act as a collaborative bridge between our marketing and product teams to ensure a consistent experience for our users.
• Mentor fellow designers and engineers while helping to grow our team and elevate the standard of design across the company.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in application development, typically demonstrated through 5 or more years of professional work.
• Strong programming capabilities and a proven track record of effective troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Next.js, Vercel, Contentful, Heap, and Figma.
• A solid foundation in graphic design principles, including typography, layout, illustration, and color theory.
• A commitment to high-quality user experiences, with a focus on polish, readability, and performance.
• Previous experience collaborating within SaaS environments alongside marketing and design teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $200,000.00 to $240,000.00. In addition to the base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
