About the Role
We are seeking a Design Director to serve as our Head of Design. This is a full-time, executive-level position based in our downtown Los Angeles office. In this role, you will lead the creative vision for our bridesmaid dresses, accessories, and emerging product categories. You will act as a player-coach, overseeing our high-level design strategy while remaining hands-on with the development of our seasonal collections. You will report directly to our CEO and collaborate across departments to ensure our designs resonate with our core bridal customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the brand's seasonal fashion direction while ensuring aesthetic integrity across all product categories.
- Lead the design team through the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept and trend research to final production and fit sessions.
- Partner with Merchandising, Technical Design, and Production teams to balance creative innovation with sales objectives, cost guidelines, and strategic vendor allocation.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should bring a blend of creative vision and operational expertise. We require the following qualifications:
- At least 11 years of experience in fashion design, with a minimum of 7 years focused on dresses, special occasion wear, or bridal.
- A minimum of 7 years of management experience, with a proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire high-performing teams.
- Advanced proficiency in design software, including Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret market trends, color palettes, and prints.
- An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fluid startup environment.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
Location
This position is based in our Los Angeles office. You will be expected to work on-site 5 days a week.
