We are thrilled to invite you to join the team at Arc’teryx as a Design Assistant. Based in our North Vancouver office, you will play a vital role in supporting our Veilance line by helping us craft innovative, high-end product solutions for urban environments. Our team is a group of curious, collaborative problem solvers who thrive on testing and validating new ideas, and we are looking for someone who shares our passion for thoughtful, functional design.
What you'll be doing
- You will assist our designers in creating fully resolved garments by sewing muslins, building physical mock-ups, drafting technical drawings, and managing detailed documentation for materials and trims.
- You will track the product development lifecycle from initial concept to base size approval, ensuring all design notes are accurately recorded in our Product Line Management software.
- You will contribute creatively to the long-term vision of the Veilance line by partnering with our Product Development team to refine how we bring new, innovative ideas to life.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should be a resourceful and curious professional with a strong foundation in apparel design. We are looking for the following qualifications and skills:
- A degree in Design, such as Apparel, Industrial, or Textile Engineering, paired with at least 2 years of experience in the apparel industry.
- A deep understanding of garment construction, sewing, and pattern making, along with the technical ability to create your own prototypes.
- Proficiency or a solid working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, CLO3D, or Gerber software.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively while balancing independent tasks with team collaboration.
- Fluency in English and legal eligibility to work in Canada.
