Helsing is a defence AI company dedicated to protecting democracies through technological leadership. We are looking for a Senior Deployed AI Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis across our European locations in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Estonia, or Poland.

Responsibilities

Integrate state-of-the-art software into complex, real-world systems.
Collaborate with customer engineers to understand and interface with legacy systems, databases, and network protocols.
Define and execute end-to-end delivery of novel capabilities.
Formalize customer requirements and identify bugs in close partnership with our product teams.
Coordinate and execute technology demonstrations for customers and partners using simulations or real-world systems.
Operate, evolve, and improve Helsing software in the field.

Must-haves

Degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Strong proficiency in scripting languages like Python or BASH.
Experience with software engineering in C++, Java, or Rust.
Ability to navigate and configure Linux systems.
Solid understanding of network stacks and database systems.
A curious, creative mindset that enjoys digging into unfamiliar systems to understand how they function.
Comfort working with legacy systems rather than replacing them.
If applying for a position in Germany, you must be able to speak German at a business-fluent level.

Nice-to-haves

Professional experience with Rust and Python.
Experience with cloud-native, container-based, and edge application architectures.
Familiarity with maintaining production systems using Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
Experience working with SQL, NoSQL, and streaming database systems.
Background in production ML systems or professional experience in a defence context.
