We are Whiteboard Federal, a company that delivers mission-critical data science and analytics support to government customers. We need a senior Data Scientist who can turn large, complex datasets into actionable insights while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams on-site.
Responsibilities
- Build and monitor accuracy and performance metrics for models and analyses.
- Collect and prepare the data needed for model development and evaluation.
- Prototype predictive and optimization models using high-level languages such as R or Python.
- Produce, improve, and maintain clear technical documentation.
- Apply statistical and financial modeling techniques to test courses of action.
- Work with Big Data technologies to handle large-scale datasets.
Must-haves
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Statistics, or Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- Industry experience in predictive modeling, data science, and analysis.
- Expert knowledge in at least one of machine learning, operations research, or data science research.
- Fluency in a high-level modeling language and working knowledge of SQL.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with diverse teams.
- Active TS/SCI+ clearance.
- English language proficiency.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficiency in Java or C++.
- Experience designing and supporting large-scale distributed systems in production.
- Ability to translate informal business requirements into clear problem definitions and models.
- Skill in explaining complex mathematical concepts to non-technical audiences.
