Data Scientist at Whiteboard Federal

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to deliver mission-critical analytical support for government customers at Whiteboard Federal, a firm focused on advanced data solutions for complex national security challenges.

Responsibilities

• Build and monitor accuracy and performance metrics for analytical models.
• Collect and prepare large datasets needed for analysis and model development.
• Prototype models using high-level languages such as R or Python.
• Develop, improve, and maintain technical documentation for all modeling work.
• Design predictive and optimization models to evaluate different courses of action.
• Apply entity resolution and extraction techniques on large datasets to support work products.
• Evaluate and implement algorithms in Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.

Must-haves

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Statistics, or Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
• Industry experience in predictive modeling, data science, and analysis.
• Expert knowledge in at least one of machine learning, operations research, or data science research.
• Fluency in a high-level modeling language such as R or Python.
• Working knowledge of SQL.
• Ability to perform financial and statistical modeling.
• Experience with Big Data technologies.
• Strong communication, influencing, and partnership skills.
• Active TS/SCI or higher security clearance.
• English language proficiency.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in Java or C++.
• Experience designing and supporting large-scale distributed systems in production environments.
• Skill in translating informal business requirements into clear problem definitions, models, and constraints.
• Ability to explain rigorous mathematical concepts to non-technical audiences.
