Are you ready to turn complex data into meaningful action within a fast-paced logistics environment? At DPD in Oirschot, we are looking for a dedicated Data Scientist to join our Insight and Analytics team. As part of the Geopost network, which handles over 1.2 billion parcels annually, we pride ourselves on a culture that is entrepreneurial, reliable, and deeply human. You will be working alongside a team of 12 colleagues, reporting to the Manager of Data Science and AI, to help us optimize our supply chain and improve our customer processes through advanced analytics.
What you'll be doing
- Design, build, and train sophisticated machine learning models to solve real-world logistics challenges.
- Lead the development of a generative AI platform tailored to our specific business needs.
- Apply generative AI techniques to streamline our internal processes and create measurable value for the organization.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong quantitative background and a passion for innovation. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A university degree in a field such as Econometrics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics.
- At least two years of professional experience working with Python.
- Fluency in both Dutch and English, allowing you to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- A creative mindset that allows you to think outside the box when analyzing data structures and business processes.
- Prior experience with forecasting or generative AI is considered a significant advantage.
