Data Engineer at ComplyAdvantage

We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team on a full-time, hybrid basis in Portugal. At ComplyAdvantage, we provide the financial industry with cutting-edge, AI-driven technology designed to detect and neutralize risks related to money laundering, corruption, and other financial crimes. With over 1,000 clients relying on our real-time global database, we are a rapidly growing company backed by major investors like Goldman Sachs and Index Ventures. You will join our Insights team to build scalable data platforms that empower our customers to manage their compliance operations with greater agility.

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust systems that extract meaningful insights and analytics from massive volumes of data, ensuring our platform remains scalable and efficient.
• Collaborate within an empowered team to make critical technical decisions, taking full ownership of your code from initial concept through to production deployment.
• Support your colleagues through code reviews and paired programming, fostering an open environment where collective success and high-quality standards are the top priorities.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with data warehousing technologies and a deep understanding of various database design patterns, computation engines, and workflow orchestrators.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Kotlin or Python, alongside experience with high-throughput data streaming architectures.
• A solid grasp of cloud-native solutions on platforms like AWS or GCP, including knowledge of observability tools for logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to create clear technical documentation and work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
• A commitment to system quality, including experience with testing frameworks and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
