The opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join our product engineering team. In this role, you will focus on power controls and project design, working closely with our Chief Engineer and Senior Design Engineer to drive our technical vision forward. Based in or near our Ridgewood, New Jersey headquarters, you will play a vital part in a fast-growing, private equity-backed business where your contributions will directly impact our ability to provide cleaner and more reliable energy.
A day in the life
- You will design, develop, and program PLC-based electrical control systems while mastering our proprietary microgrid controls to optimize them for each unique project.
- You will manage the full lifecycle of control hardware, from specifying and purchasing instrumentation to troubleshooting field and panel-mounted components.
- You will perform risk assessments and implement essential safety measures, ensuring that every system we deploy operates with maximum efficiency and reliability.
Who you are
You are a dedicated professional with a strong background in automation and programming. We are looking for someone who brings the following to our team:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 5 years of relevant work history.
- Deep expertise in PLC programming and the ability to troubleshoot complex ladder logic.
- Experience with control loop design and switching power supply systems is considered a significant plus.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and software interface skills, paired with the ability to manage multiple project tasks simultaneously.
- Fluency in English and a commitment to staying current with the latest advancements in control systems technology.
