We are looking for a Consumer Marketing Manager to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. At The Daily Beast, a globally recognized publication under IAC with headquarters in New York City, we produce independent journalism that reaches a wide audience. In this role you will lead subscription acquisition and retention efforts, using data and cross-team collaboration to grow and engage our subscriber base.
Responsibilities
- Develop and run data-driven marketing strategies across paid media, email, social, SEO, and content marketing to acquire new subscribers while setting pricing guidelines and optimizing conversion funnels through A/B testing and performance analysis.
- Design and oversee retention programs such as personalized email campaigns, loyalty initiatives, and targeted messaging, using segmentation and KPI monitoring to reduce churn and increase customer lifetime value.
- Collaborate with editorial, product, analytics, and revenue operations teams to align content and product experiences with subscriber goals, deliver regular performance reports to senior leadership, and refine campaigns based on consumer insights.
Requirements
- Five or more years of consumer marketing experience focused on subscription acquisition and retention, ideally within media, publishing, or digital content, along with a proven record of subscriber growth campaigns.
- Strong command of digital marketing platforms including Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, CRM systems, and email tools, plus hands-on experience with A/B testing, SEO, content marketing, paid search, and paid social.
- Excellent communication, project management, and collaboration skills, an analytical mindset centered on performance metrics, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Preferred qualifications include prior work in a media or news organization, knowledge of digital-news subscription models, experience with platforms such as Zuora or Piano, and background in customer segmentation and engagement tactics.
What we offer
- The base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 - $100,000; actual compensation may vary based on work location, experience, and other factors.
