The role
We are looking for a Consumer Marketing Lead to join our team in Japan on a full-time, on-site basis in Tokyo. This is a senior-level position for a seasoned marketer who will shape our consumer strategy to grow our brand presence and capture the hearts and ears of new and existing fans. You will be responsible for leading our consumer marketing team, overseeing the development of campaigns, and ensuring our creative and media strategies resonate deeply within the Japanese market.
Core responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize regional marketing strategies while managing the consumer marketing team in Japan.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners and external agencies to ensure all marketing activities remain representative of our global brand while feeling authentic to local audiences.
- Oversee the full campaign lifecycle, from creating business briefs and learning agendas to executing initiatives and conducting retrospectives to measure return on investment.
Skills and experience
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in consumer marketing, brand management, or working within a creative agency in the Japanese market.
- Bilingual proficiency in both Japanese and English.
- Proven track record of managing the entire marketing lifecycle, including the execution of paid advertising campaigns to drive key brand metrics.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams, along with a solid professional network within the Japanese media and advertising industry.
- Deep understanding of the competitive digital landscape, including mobile and social platforms and their influence on Japanese popular culture.
- A self-starter mentality with the ability to work autonomously and solve problems creatively in an unstructured environment.
