Color Material Finish Designer at Away

We are looking for a Senior Color, Material, Finish (CMF) Designer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. Since launching in 2016 with a single, perfectly designed carry-on, we have grown into a company that offers a full range of travel essentials. We are a community of travelers dedicated to making every journey more seamless, and we are looking for someone to help us drive innovation in our product design.

Responsibilities

• You will assist our senior team in reviewing color approvals and developing a keen eye for matching colors across various materials, including nylon, leather, hardware, and polycarbonate.
• You will manage our comprehensive CMF library and reference system, which includes organizing material lab dips and trims to ensure every detail is tracked accurately in our database.
• You will conduct market research on emerging trends and innovations to help inform our future product palettes and visualize seasonal concepts through CAD updates.

Requirements

• You possess at least one year of experience in design or color and material matching, specifically within the luggage, hard goods, or bag industries.
• You have a strong grasp of the product life cycle and the manufacturing process.
• You are proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
• You are a bilingual communicator who is comfortable working with international production partners and visiting factories to ensure design intent is clearly understood.
• You demonstrate excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

What we offer
