Are you ready to build the software infrastructure that powers the world’s most advanced hardware, from autonomous vehicles to spacecraft? At Nominal, we are creating a platform that ingests high-rate telemetry and validates complex autonomy software in real time. We are a fast-moving team backed by top investors like Sequoia and Founders Fund, and we serve critical partners including the U.S. Navy and the Air Force. We are looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of hardware and software to help us push the boundaries of what is possible.

What you bring

As a Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will join our team on a full-time basis in the United States. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing our development environments and ensuring our systems remain reliable as we scale. Your work will directly impact how our engineers build and deploy technology for high-stakes environments.

  • Build and improve our DevOps and cloud infrastructure systems to increase engineering velocity.
  • Own the deployment and management of cloud infrastructure while refining our CI/CD pipelines.
  • Identify and solve complex technical challenges across our cloud and on-prem systems with full autonomy.

Requirements

We are looking for a technical leader who has at least four years of experience in software engineering, specifically with infrastructure for high-scale distributed systems. You should be comfortable working with AWS Cloud, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Crossplane. Proficiency in Bash, Python, or Go is essential, as is experience with observability tools like Datadog or Prometheus. Because we work with sensitive technology, you must meet ITAR requirements, meaning you are a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident, or hold refugee or asylee status. You should be a collaborative problem solver who is willing to travel once or twice a month to work on-site with our customers.

What we offer

We value our team members and provide a comprehensive support package to ensure you are taken care of both personally and professionally.

  • Full coverage for medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Unlimited vacation and sick leave.
  • Professional development stipend to help you grow your skills.
  • Annual company retreats to connect with the team.

How to Apply

If you are passionate about building the future of advanced hardware and want to join a mission-driven team, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to us with your background and interest in the role, and we look forward to discussing how your expertise can help us reach our next milestone.
