The role
We are seeking a Mid-Level Civil Designer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. This position is perfect for a personable individual who has substantial experience across various engineering phases. You will be responsible for initiating project designs, creating detailed plans, and preparing professional presentations. Depending on our current project needs and your location, this role will be based in one of our offices in Reno, Carson City, Fallon, or South Lake Tahoe, Nevada, or El Dorado Hills, California.
Core responsibilities
- Provide technical drafting support by preparing precise engineering drawings using CAD Civil 3D software in accordance with our established standards.
- Conduct planning and analysis for assigned projects using ArcPRO GIS software to ensure all designs meet project requirements.
- Manage the full lifecycle of design documentation, including the production of final civil drawings, the preparation of permit applications, and conducting field visits to assist with construction oversight.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should bring a strong foundation in engineering design and a commitment to high-quality work. We require the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or at least two years of relevant AEC experience with a strong background in CAD design.
- A minimum of two years of professional engineering design experience.
- Proficiency in CAD Civil 3D for creating site plans, grading plans, and utility layouts.
- A solid understanding of grading, drainage concepts, and utility design standards.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent problem-solving, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- An Engineer Intern (E.I.) certification is preferred.
