Our firm provides comprehensive engineering expertise across a wide range of disciplines, including transportation systems, erosion control, residential and commercial developments, and complete water and wastewater infrastructure. We are currently seeking a mid-level Civil Designer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. Depending on the selection process, the role will be located in one of our offices in Reno, Carson City, Fallon, or South Lake Tahoe, Nevada, or El Dorado Hills, California.
Key outcomes
- Produce high-quality civil design drawings and project plans while preparing necessary permit applications.
- Provide technical drafting support using AutoCAD Civil 3D to ensure all work meets established standards.
- Utilize ArcPRO GIS software to perform project planning and analysis.
- Assist with computer modeling for water, sewer, and stormwater systems, including the preparation of associated reports.
- Conduct field and construction site visits to verify quantities, generate reports, and process pay applications.
- Mentor our junior staff, including engineering technicians and interns.
- Execute specialized design tasks based on your focus area, such as water resource management, land development, or transportation infrastructure.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or at least two years of relevant experience in the AEC industry with a focus on CAD design, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of two years of professional engineering design experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for creating grading plans, site plans, utility plans, and plan sets.
- A solid understanding of drainage and grading concepts, as well as utility design standards for sewer and water distribution.
- Strong computer skills, specifically with the Microsoft Office suite.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record of three or fewer demerit points.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Possession of an Engineer Intern (E.I.) certification, having successfully passed the FE exam.
