About the Role
We are looking for a Chip Lead to join our team in a full-time, on-site capacity. In this position, you will take ownership of developing chip micro-architecture specifications for our high-end PHYs and controllers. You will serve as a technical anchor, guiding our cross-functional teams through the entire lifecycle of our products, from initial design concepts all the way through to tape-out and final bring-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of chip-level micro-architecture specifications while collaborating with marketing and system architecture teams to define functionality and performance targets.
- Manage the evaluation of third-party IP to establish a clear plan of record regarding power, area, performance, and development schedules.
- Oversee the full execution of chip development, including close coordination with physical design teams and the definition of comprehensive production and bench-level test plans.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 12 years of professional experience in high-speed digital design, with a preference for backgrounds in retimer, gearbox, or Ethernet PMA/PCS logic.
- Deep expertise in RTL-based digital IC design using SystemVerilog and proficiency with synthesis and implementation tools from Synopsys or Cadence.
- Strong knowledge of Ethernet 802.3 standards, including 100G through 800G, as well as expertise in Forward Error Correction (FEC) implementation.
- A proven ability to thrive in a startup environment, paired with the technical leadership skills needed to explore new design paradigms.
