The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for Jumia Morocco is responsible for shaping and executing the country’s marketing strategy, driving customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution on both online and offline scopes, ensuring alignment between local market priorities and group-level marketing frameworks.
As part of the Morocco leadership team, the CMO will play a critical role in accelerating Jumia’s growth, enhancing brand equity, and fostering collaboration across central and local teams.
What you will be doing
- Define and implement Jumia Morocco’s marketing strategy across all channels (online and offline), fully aligned with the company’s business objectives and group guidelines.
- Be an active member of the country leadership team, contributing to overall company strategy and decision-making.
- Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary marketing team, ensuring high performance, accountability, and career development.
- Drive performance through paid media channels, SEO, CRM and Influence marketing.
- Own Jumia’s brand positioning in Morocco, adapting to the local market specificities.
- Develop creative 360° marketing campaigns to support commercial events (e.g., Jumia Anniversary, Black Friday) and brand milestones.
- Manage public relations, social media presence, and local partnerships to enhance visibility and reputation.
- Increase Jumia’s revenue through the platform’s monetization.
- Work closely with central teams (Performance Marketing, SEO, CRM, Creative) to leverage group expertise while tailoring to local needs.
What we are looking for
- 10+ years of marketing experience, ideally in e-commerce, FMCG, or digital-first industries, with at least 5 years in senior leadership.
- Proven track record in performance marketing, brand building, and customer growth.
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience managing cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing across local and group structures.
- Fluency in French and English.
- Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related subject.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
