The Role
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is a pivotal role on the Cashrewards Executive Team responsible for shaping the organisation's marketing strategy, planning marketing investment, driving customer acquisition and retention efforts and overseeing the execution of all marketing campaigns and initiatives.
The CMO plays a critical role in driving business growth, building brand value, contributing to revenue growth and achieving business objectives. As the voice of the customer on the executive team, the CMO is responsible for shaping the ideal customer experience and identifying insights to continually evolve and enhance the product experience for both members and merchants.

Your Focus
  • Leadership: As an executive leadership team (ELT) member, bring your marketing expertise to lead with a "Cashrewards-first" approach to deliver our vision, purpose and strategy. Make a positive cultural contribution to Cashrewards as a whole.
  • People development: Lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing team, including senior marketers who are experts in their craft. Develop, coach, set goals and expectations, and foster a collaborative environment across Cashrewards.
  • Marketing strategy development and delivery: Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy and vision to deliver Cashrewards' goals and objectives encompassing all aspects of marketing, including: Brand strategy and management, Customer experience, Customer engagement, retention and loyalty, Growth and customer acquisition, Media strategy and planning, Product education and adoption, Marketing process & operations Agency and supplier management.
  • Commercial management: Ensure the marketing budget and resources are allocated to meet business objectives in a commercially responsible fashion ensuring all activity delivers a good return on investment.
  • Data driven decision making: Partner with the analytics and insights team to identify relevant customer insights to influence customer and client outcomes.
  • Performance driven focus: Drive a performance driven culture within the organisation, monitoring member, channel, merchant and campaign performance metrics.
  • Research and insights: Use research to understand customer behaviour, market trends and monitor competitor activity to synthesise insights and inform the development of marketing strategy and campaigns.
  • Martech leadership: Advocate for the right tools, technology and training for the marketing team to enable automation and improvements to campaign execution processes.
  • Cross functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product, Client Success, Sales, Retail Media, Technology, Finance and Member Operations teams to deliver cross functional initiatives to support the businesses growth objectives.  
  • Legal and regulatory: Oversee all marketing activity in partnership with the legal team to ensure it complies with legal and regulatory requirements, such as advertising standards, consumer, privacy and data protection laws.


  • About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • Proven experience in Senior Marketing Leadership Roles.
  • Experience in tech start up, scale up environments, financial services, retail or media preferred but not essential.
  • Strong background in brand building, growth, customer experience, CRM and engagement essential.
  • Highly creative and strategic thinker with the ability to craft a story or narrative for the brand and business.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing marketing strategies that drive measurable business outcomes for both consumers and businesses.
  • Pragmatic approach to decision making with the ability to balance competing priorities and interests and determine the best course of action.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Ability to communicate persuasively and effectively to develop relationships and influence across the business, executive team and board.
  • Results-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing and media landscape.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
