The role

We are searching for a Carpet Sales Specialist to join our Floorcovering Sales Team on a full-time, on-site basis. This is a mid-level position perfect for a professional who is passionate about interior design and excels at building lasting client relationships. You will play a key role in our New York City showroom, helping us deliver the high standard of service our clients expect.

Core responsibilities

  • Drive revenue by identifying client needs and recommending the perfect floorcovering solutions to meet our sales objectives.
  • Deliver inspirational and professional product presentations that showcase our offerings in the best possible light.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from generating leads and providing quotes to following up on order status and reactivating dormant accounts.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess a blend of sales expertise and design knowledge. We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • A strong background in the carpet and rug trade, ideally supported by education or professional experience in interior design.
  • Proven success in a sales environment, specifically with experience selling custom products for home design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, combined with the ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
  • A professional demeanor, a high level of accountability, and a genuine passion for serving clients and developing new business.
  • The physical ability to handle the manual requirements of working with carpet samples and showroom displays.

Compensation and benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $85,000. Please note that this range reflects what we believe we are prepared to pay at the time of this posting. We reserve the higher end of this range for candidates whose credentials, expertise, and experience far exceed the requirements of the position.
