ABOUT BLACK GIRLS CODE
Our mission at Black Girls Code (BGC) is to ensure that Black girls* believe they belong in tech and launch them with the skills, opportunities, and resources to lead. We partner with schools, companies, local organizations, and dedicated volunteers to offer a range of in-person and virtual learning opportunities that build the skills and relationships our girls need to thrive. Our eyes are ever-set upon launching one million Black girls into tech by 2040.

POSITION
BGC is on the lookout for a dynamic and multi-talented senior writer to join our vibrant team. You'll be the driving force behind crafting impactful and engaging content across all channels, ensuring everything we create reflects the spirit and values of BGC.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy aligned with our brand message and social media goals
  • Craft compelling content across various channels (BGC and leadership’s social media, YouTube, website, email, partner-facing materials and internal communications) that resonate with our audiences
  • Stay up-to-date on current events and relevant industry trends to identify how we engage with them in a brand-aligned and impactful way
  • Maintain consistent brand voice and tone across all channels, ensuring everything we create reflects BGC's values
  • Edit and proofread all written materials to ensure accuracy and clarity
  • Track and analyze the effectiveness of communications efforts


    • THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Strategic storyteller who is passionate about BGC's mission
  • Strong written and verbal communication with a collaborative spirit
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a knack for crafting engaging narratives
  • Strong understanding of content marketing best practices.
  • Adept at managing various platforms and projects simultaneously
  • Experience analyzing channel performance and reporting on KPIs
    • BONUS
  • Experience with ghostwriting and executive comms
  • Experience in video production
  • Strong understanding of brand aesthetics
