We are Black Girls Code, an organization dedicated to ensuring Black girls believe they belong in the tech industry. Our mission is to launch one million Black girls into tech by 2040, and we are looking for a Senior Writer to help us tell our story and amplify our impact.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with our team to build and carry out a content strategy that supports our brand message and social media objectives.
- Create engaging content for diverse channels, including social media, YouTube, our website, email campaigns, and partner materials.
- Monitor industry trends and current events to find meaningful ways for us to engage with our audience.
- Ensure our brand voice remains consistent and authentic across every piece of content we produce.
- Review and edit all written materials to maintain high standards of clarity and accuracy.
- Monitor the performance of our communications and use data to track our progress against key metrics.
Must-haves
- A deep passion for our mission and a talent for strategic storytelling.
- Excellent writing and editing abilities with a proven knack for narrative craft.
- Strong verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- A solid grasp of content marketing best practices.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and platforms at the same time.
- Experience analyzing channel performance and reporting on KPIs.
Nice-to-haves
- Background in executive communications or ghostwriting.
- Hands-on experience with video production.
- A strong eye for brand aesthetics.
