We are looking for a Senior Bag Glove Designer to join our team at Arc’teryx. As a leader in high-performance outdoor equipment, we are dedicated to creating gear that withstands the most demanding environments. In this role, you will help us design, build, and validate product solutions that reflect our core design philosophy. You will work alongside a global network of athletes and ambassadors to understand their needs and test your designs in real-world conditions. By collaborating with our Advanced Concepts team, you will contribute to innovative technology platforms and focus on product circularity to reduce our environmental impact. This is a full-time position based in Canada, offering a hybrid work environment.
Key outcomes
- Develop innovative concepts for bags, packs, and gloves that meet the functional requirements of our athletes and customers.
- Gather insights from industry experts and brand ambassadors to ensure our products stay ahead of evolving market needs.
- Partner with design developers to create patterns, mock-ups, and prototypes that test new construction techniques.
- Work with product developers to document concepts and coordinate with factory partners for successful production.
- Present your work during design reviews and seasonal stage gates to ensure alignment with our product roadmap.
- Collaborate with our merchandising and leadership teams to shape the long-term strategy for our accessories category.
- Integrate new materials and construction technologies into our product line to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- A degree in Industrial Design, Apparel Design, or Textile Engineering.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the design of bags, packs, or accessories.
- Proven ability to develop tools and methods for resolving complex construction challenges.
- Strong technical and creative proficiency in patterning and prototyping.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and solving issues.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- The ability to remain flexible and adaptable when navigating ambiguous project requirements.
- A passion for outdoor activities that mirrors your professional dedication to product excellence.
- Fluency in English.
