Our platform uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to collect and analyze hundreds of millions of court documents, turning raw records into clear, actionable intelligence that helps clients understand judicial rulings and competitive dynamics. We recently closed our Series B round and continue to expand our reach across the legal industry.
The role
We are hiring a Backend Technical Lead to join us on a full-time basis. This is a lead-level position for an experienced engineer who will guide backend development while working fully remote from anywhere in the United States or Latin America. An office in Los Angeles is available for optional in-person collaboration.
Core responsibilities
- Own the backend stack and deliver production-grade services that support a rapidly growing user base and large-scale data volumes.
- Lead and mentor other engineers across multiple projects, ensuring clean architecture, reliable APIs, and high-performance data pipelines.
- Transform and optimize massive data sets, improving application speed and scalability while collaborating closely with product and data teams.
Skills and experience
We are looking for candidates who bring at least eight years of backend or data-engineering experience and have previously led engineers on multiple projects. Strong proficiency in Python and Django is required, along with solid working knowledge of AWS and Linux. You should have a deep understanding of system architecture, API development, big-data handling, and web-performance optimization. A detail-oriented mindset and the ability to translate product requirements into reliable code are essential. A BS or MS in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience, is expected. Familiarity with Redis, Elasticsearch, and Postgres is considered a plus.
