Audio Lead at Gardens

At Gardens Interactive, we are dedicated to building magical, social experiences that connect players through the universal power of play. Our studio was founded by the creators behind acclaimed titles like Journey and Firewatch, and we are currently crafting a shared 3D fantasy adventure that emphasizes meaningful relationships and artistry. We are looking for an Audio Lead to join our fully remote, distributed team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be the heartbeat of our world, designing the sounds and music that breathe life into our fantasy environments and deepen player immersion.

Responsibilities

• Own the entire audio pipeline, from initial field recording and sound design to final implementation within Unreal Engine.
• Collaborate with designers, artists, and engineers to ensure audio systems are cohesive, scalable, and effectively support the emotional tone of our gameplay.
• Manage and supervise external audio partners, vendors, and creative talent to maintain high standards of quality across all game assets.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in Wwise and Unreal Engine, with a strong ability to build and maintain flexible, interactive audio systems.
• Demonstrated experience in recording, designing, and editing original sound effects using industry-standard digital audio workstations and field recording equipment.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment, balancing technical implementation with creative sound design.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to contribute to documentation and best practices for a growing studio.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States or Canada, with the ability to align your schedule with North American time zones.
