The role
We are seeking a mid-level Associate Events Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. This position is based in the United States and follows a hybrid work model. In this role, you will work closely with our marketing and specialist departments to plan and execute high-impact events that support our sales, press, and partnership goals. You will also play a key role in programming for Sotheby’s Preferred, ensuring our clients receive exclusive, high-touch experiences.
Core responsibilities
- Plan and manage approximately 75 events annually, including dinners, receptions, panel discussions, and masterclasses, while overseeing all onsite execution and vendor coordination.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal logistics, collaborating with facilities, security, and operations teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Manage event budgets, facilitate payments, and support monthly expense forecasting while maintaining data accuracy in Microsoft Excel.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 2 to 4 years of professional experience in event planning, ideally within the luxury or arts sectors.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a high level of organization, with the capacity to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, allowing you to interact professionally with senior executives and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and budget tracking.
- A deep understanding of the cultural sphere and the ability to create elevated experiences for our clients.
Compensation and benefits
The base salary for this position ranges from $55,000 to $60,000. In addition to the base salary, you will be eligible for a discretionary bonus and a competitive benefits package. We also offer a hybrid work arrangement to support your professional and personal balance.
