We are looking for an Associate Director of Consumer Marketing – Subscription to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. At The Daily Beast, a globally recognized digital publication headquartered in New York City, we focus on delivering timely news and analysis to a wide audience. In this role you will guide subscription acquisition and retention initiatives that expand our subscriber base and deepen engagement with our content.
Responsibilities
- Design and run data-driven acquisition campaigns across paid media, email, social, SEO, and content channels while setting pricing guidelines and monitoring performance to grow consumer revenue.
- Build retention programs that reduce churn, increase lifetime value, and deliver targeted engagement through personalized emails, loyalty initiatives, and exclusive content.
- Collaborate with editorial, product, analytics, and revenue operations teams to align content, user experience, and reporting so every stage of the subscriber journey performs at its best.
Requirements
- Five or more years of consumer marketing experience with a proven record of subscription growth, ideally in media, publishing, or digital content.
- Strong command of digital marketing platforms such as Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, CRM systems, and email tools, plus hands-on experience with A/B testing, SEO, content marketing, paid search, and paid social.
- Excellent project-management and communication skills, an analytical mindset focused on performance metrics, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Preferred: prior work in a media or news organization, familiarity with subscription platforms such as Zuora or Piano, and experience with customer segmentation and engagement tactics.
