Picture a small, fast-moving team spread between sunny San Jose and historic Munich, all focused on one ambitious goal: building the silicon that will let autonomous vehicles truly see the world. At Recogni we design high-performance, low-power AI inference chips that turn raw camera data into split-second decisions, and we are now looking for the next engineer who will help prove those chips work flawlessly before they ever reach silicon.
The opportunity
As an ASIC Verification Engineer you will own the pre-silicon quality of our flagship convolutional-neural-network accelerator, a multi-million-gate device that fuses custom compute blocks with third-party SoC IP. Your work ensures the chip meets every functional and performance target before tape-out, directly shaping the safety and efficiency of tomorrow’s autonomous-driving systems.
A day in the life
- Partner daily with design and architecture teams to translate specifications into detailed test plans, then build block-level, subsystem, and full-chip verification environments in SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Write and refine constrained-random tests, track coverage metrics, and debug functional or performance issues until every scenario passes.
- Develop supporting scripts in Python or Perl, run diagnostic checks in the lab, and help validate early silicon once it arrives.
Who you are
You bring at least two years of ASIC verification experience and hold a B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering (an M.S. is preferred). You are fluent in Verilog and SystemVerilog, comfortable with UVM, and grounded in object-oriented programming, constrained-random stimulus, and coverage-driven methods. ARM, RISC-V, AMBA interconnects, and common peripheral protocols such as SPI, I2C, and Ethernet are familiar territory. Scripting in Python, Perl, or shell comes naturally, and you are excited to explore AI workloads that range from classic convolutions to emerging transformer models. You thrive in a hybrid workplace, communicate clearly in English, and enjoy the pace of a well-funded startup.
Why you'll love it here
You will receive medical, vision, and dental insurance, flexible hours, generous paid time off, and the freedom of hybrid work. Beyond those essentials you will enjoy catered meals and snacks, an employee stock purchase plan, and daily collaboration with colleagues whose expertise spans AI research, computer vision, and systems engineering. Every contribution is recognized, and every team member is supported to do their best work while balancing life outside the office.
