At Kasian, we believe that inspiration is the true foundation of everything we build. What started as a small firm in Western Canada has blossomed into an international, award-winning organization with nearly 40 years of history. We are deeply passionate about turning ordinary spaces into extraordinary experiences, and our team of over 250 professionals works hard every day to strengthen the connections between people and the places they inhabit. Whether we are working on healthcare facilities, industrial hubs, or public spaces, our goal remains the same: to create environments that genuinely improve lives.
The opportunity
We are currently looking for a Senior Architect to join our dedicated healthcare team in our Calgary office. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will provide essential design leadership across a variety of projects. You will act as a key design resource, overseeing the full design process or serving as a technical expert on specialized components. Because we often handle large and complex projects, you will have the chance to work on several initiatives simultaneously while helping to mentor and develop our junior design staff.
A day in the life
- You will collaborate closely with project managers to establish clear work plans, define project scopes, and manage budgets and staffing needs to ensure our projects stay on track.
- You will lead the design process by generating innovative concepts, creating high-quality presentation materials, and ensuring that our final documentation aligns perfectly with our high standards of quality and client expectations.
- You will serve as a primary point of contact for our clients, leading project meetings and presentations while navigating complex administrative and technical challenges to ensure the financial and creative success of our work.
Who you are
You are a seasoned professional who brings a wealth of expertise to our studio. To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor or Master of Architecture from an accredited program, supported by at least 10 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years specifically focused on healthcare projects.
- Current registration with a provincial architectural regulatory board.
- Strong technical proficiency and hands-on Revit experience.
- Exceptional graphic communication skills and a forward-thinking approach to design, materials, and modern construction methods.
- A deep understanding of building codes, bylaws, and advanced construction practices.
- Fluency in English to facilitate clear communication with our team and clients.
Why you'll love it here
Joining Kasian means becoming part of a collaborative, award-winning culture that values innovation and professional growth. You will have the opportunity to work on high-impact healthcare projects that make a real difference in the community. We provide a supportive environment where your leadership is encouraged and your technical expertise is put to meaningful use every day. If you are ready to contribute to a leading architectural firm, we would love to hear from you.
