Application Security Engineer at Palantir Technologies

We are looking for a Senior Application Security Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in the United Kingdom. At Palantir, we build software that helps the world’s most significant institutions solve their most complex problems, from discovering life-saving medicines to securing global financial markets. Our Product Security team is at the heart of this mission, ensuring that our software remains resilient against advanced persistent threats. In this hybrid role, you will partner closely with our engineers to weave security into the fabric of our products, helping us maintain a secure-by-design approach while enabling our teams to move with speed and agility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security reviews and threat models for our product portfolio, identifying vulnerabilities through whitebox, greybox, and blackbox assessments.
• Serve as a security subject matter expert, guiding architects and engineers through the design process to ensure our systems are secure by default.
• Drive company-wide security initiatives, such as developing automation to eliminate entire classes of weaknesses or hardening our software supply chain.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in software engineering or development, paired with a deep passion for information security.
• Proficiency in modern high-level programming languages, including Java, Golang, JavaScript, or Python.
• Proven ability to evaluate complex codebases and architectures, such as micro-services or service-oriented architectures, for security weaknesses.
• Hands-on experience with static code analysis platforms like CodeQL and performing black-box testing on web applications.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse engineering teams to solve difficult technical challenges.
