At Arc’teryx, we are a collective of builders, problem solvers, and outdoor enthusiasts who are deeply fueled by curiosity. We take an immersive approach to our work, identifying the functional needs of our community and then building, testing, and validating products that solve real-world challenges. By collaborating closely with our athletes and learning from their direct feedback, we create gear that stands up to the most demanding environments. We are looking for a passionate student to join our Women’s Climb and Run design team in North Vancouver to help us bring innovative, high-performance apparel to life.
The opportunity
As an Apparel Design Co-Op Student, you will play a vital role in supporting our design team as they craft product solutions that align with our core design philosophies. You will work alongside designers, design developers, and cross-functional partners to turn concepts into reality. This 40-hour-per-week role is based in our North Vancouver office and offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to balance your time between our studio and your home office. This is a unique chance to immerse yourself in the full design lifecycle, from initial ideation to the final prototype.
A day in the life
- You will manage the creation and maintenance of design boards, prepare trim swatches, and update digital presentations to keep our projects moving forward.
- You will collaborate with the team to assemble documentation for design handoffs, which includes gathering technical drawings, material specifications, and reference samples.
- You will assist in documenting seasonal data trends and athlete insights, while also supporting the team in updating technical drawings and design packs.
Who you are
You are currently in your fourth year of an Apparel Design program and are eager to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges. You possess a strong creative foundation and are proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. You have a basic understanding of patternmaking and are comfortable sewing both woven and knit garments on industrial machines. We value candidates who are proactive problem solvers, thrive in collaborative environments, and share our genuine passion for getting outside and living the lifestyle our products support. Proficiency or a strong desire to learn CLO3D is highly encouraged.
Why you'll love it here
We are committed to your professional growth and ensuring you gain a deep understanding of garment construction, technical materials, and the complexities of the design process. You will be part of a supportive team that values your contributions and helps you develop the skills necessary to succeed as a future design or product development assistant. The compensation for this role ranges from $44,700 to $55,100 CAD, depending on your specific school program, year of study, and relevant experience. We look forward to seeing how your unique perspective can help us continue to innovate.
