AI Tech Lead at Merge API

Merge is the primary provider of agentic tools and customer-facing integrations, serving frontier LLMs, Fortune 500 organizations, and B2B SaaS companies. Our platform features Merge Unified, which allows businesses to add hundreds of integrations through a single API, and Merge Agent Handler, which gives AI agents secure access to thousands of third-party tools. We are now seeking a driven AI Tech Lead to head our Applied AI team, where you will build the next generation of our AI-native products and manage the systems that drive our internal operational leverage.

What you'll be doing

• Lead and mentor a team of applied AI engineers while fostering a culture of technical rigor, experimentation, and innovation.
• Define and execute the product roadmap for AI-driven features and internal tools designed to improve automation, monitoring, and integration development.
• Partner with our product, design, and engineering teams to ship intelligent, user-facing tools that distinguish our platform in the market.

What you'll bring

• At least 1 year of experience leading engineers and technical projects, supported by 7 to 10 years of individual contributor experience in software or ML/AI systems.
• A proven track record of leading teams that build data-intensive applications, ML platforms, or AI-powered products.
• Proficiency with our core tech stack, including Python, Django, React, Postgres, and AWS.
• A product-focused mindset that allows you to balance research and experimentation with the need to ship high-impact features.
• Strong collaborative skills and the ability to align AI initiatives with broader business and customer goals.
• Fluency in English.

What you'll get

The cash compensation for this role ranges from $200,000 to $245,000, and all employees receive an additional equity compensation package.
