AI Product Engineering Lead at Hex Technologies

At Hex we build a collaborative notebook and app platform that already puts powerful language-model features in the hands of thousands of analysts and data scientists, and we’re looking for an engineering leader who can turn that early advantage into an industry-defining product experience.

What you bring

We need a hands-on AI Product Engineering Lead to guide a cross-functional team through the full stack of our AI initiatives. You will combine deep technical insight with proven leadership, working in a Full Time, Hybrid capacity from our San Francisco office. Your day-to-day will center on three core responsibilities:

• Delivering an industry-leading, AI-assisted workflow that feels magical to data users.
• Setting and executing a technical roadmap that balances near-term optimizations with rapid adoption of emerging model advances.
• Building a high-output, high-vision culture that attracts top talent and keeps the team aligned on Hex’s long-term product strategy.

The role is based in the United States, with an expectation of at least two in-office days each week.

Requirements

You bring at least eight years of engineering experience, four of those in a management role, and you have shipped complex, full-stack projects inside high-caliber product organizations. You are fluent in the language of large language models and excited to dive into implementation details as well as future possibilities. Strong product intuition, comfort working alongside research teams, and the ability to measure experimental success are essential. You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, practice compassionate people management, and have a track record of hiring standout engineers. Familiarity with modern data tooling and trends rounds out the profile. All collaboration happens in English.
