As part of the Visma Group, we provide an all-in-one platform that simplifies CRM, project management, and invoicing for thousands of users. We are looking for a talented engineer to join our team and help us build the next generation of intelligent, AI-driven automation for our products.
What is this role?
We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join us on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid role, with the option to work from our office in Ghent, Belgium, or remotely within the EU. You will be responsible for designing and scaling our AI infrastructure from the ground up, ensuring our systems are performant, reliable, and secure.
What will you do?
- Design and operate the AI gateway using TypeScript to provide stable, versioned endpoints for our product teams.
- Build and manage agentic workflows, including tool-calling, state management, and robust retrieval pipelines for RAG implementations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices for AI safety, data privacy, and performance monitoring across our SaaS platform.
What makes you a great fit?
You are a skilled engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and communicates effectively in English. To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Between 3 and 5 years of experience building backend services with Node and TypeScript.
- Proven experience shipping LLM features, such as streaming chat, agent workflows, and function calling.
- Strong knowledge of databases and caching technologies, including MySQL and Redis.
- A deep understanding of API design and a commitment to building secure, multi-tenant systems.
- Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) is considered a significant advantage.
