At Hyperbolic Labs, we are dedicated to democratizing artificial intelligence by removing the obstacles that currently limit access to computing power. We are building an Open-Access AI Cloud that utilizes idle computing resources worldwide, creating an innovative marketplace for GPUs and inference services that are both affordable and accessible. Our team is driven by the belief that AI innovation should be defined by human imagination rather than restricted by resource availability. Supported by a recent seed round and led by co-founders with advanced degrees in AI, mathematics, and computer science, we are ready to change the landscape of modern computing.
The role
We are searching for a Senior AI Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an on-site position based in the United States, and we require our team members to work from our San Francisco Bay Area office at least 75% of the time. You will collaborate directly with our engineering group to develop and scale our core AI platform.
Core responsibilities
- Design and implement robust software solutions that contribute to the growth and stability of our AI infrastructure.
- Manage the training, fine-tuning, and deployment of complex neural networks to ensure high performance.
- Perform detailed profiling and optimization of machine learning systems, including graph-level improvements to enhance overall efficiency.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a deep background in software engineering and a proven track record of contributing to significant AI projects. We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Hands-on experience with distributed inference and fine-tuning for large language models and diffusion models.
- A strong understanding of common neural network architectures and their associated operators.
- Proficiency in tools and technologies such as CUDA, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
- Practical experience with GPU kernels and NCCL.
- Familiarity with machine learning compilers, specifically TVM, is considered a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of peer-to-peer networks or experience working with distributed cloud services and microservices.
Compensation and benefits
Hyperbolic is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and every team member is empowered to succeed.
How to apply
If you are passionate about building an open future for AI and meet the requirements for this position, we encourage you to reach out to our team. We look forward to reviewing your background and discussing how your expertise can help us turn visionary AI projects into reality.
